Places to enjoy near Dehradun

Laxman Sidh Temple

A Popular temple, Laxman Siddh is around 12 kilometres from Dehradun on Haridwar-Rishikesh road, Uttarakhand, India. The temple is easily accessible by uncountable devotees especially on Sundays from all over the world. It is also the cremation site of Saint Swami Laxman Siddh and to pay the homage to the saint, multiple devotees gather at the holy Samadhi (penance) here.

Malsi Deer Park

Malsi Deer Park is situated at around 10 km from the city on way to Mussoorie. Malsi Deer Park is home to the two horned deer, Neelgai and an assortment of birds. This is a zoological park that lies at the foothills of the Shivalik range. It also has a kids park and is a good family destination. Its picturesque set up and vibrant wildlife makes it an interesting destination for photographers.

Tapkeshwar Temple

The Tapkeshwar temple is in the Garhi Cantonment zone around 6.5 kms from the Dehradun city. Tapkeshwar is a radiant place along a regular waterway in the thick woods valley where an extensive number of Lord Shiva Devotees throng amid the Shivratri. The water or dampness gathers from the slopes and trees and streams down as drops onto the shivling, thus the name (Tapkeshwar).

Sahastradhara

Situated at a distance of 14 km from the Dehradun is Sahastradhara, a colorful outing spot and a famous vacation destination of Dehradun. With its strict importance being 'Thousand Fold Spring', Sahastradhara is a lovely sulfur spring, having a fall of pretty nearly 9 meters and leaves an incrustation of lime on every thing it touches.

Chandrabani

Located 7 Km from Dehradun on the Dehradun-Delhi road is the acclaimed Chandrabani Temple(Gautam Kund). As per the mythological conventions, this spot was occupied by Maharishi Gautam, his wife and girl Anjani who are generally revered by the individuals. It is accepted that the girl of paradise Ganga had showed herself on this spot which is currently prominently known as the Gautam Kund.

Sai Darbar

The Sai Darbar Temple is a standout amongst the most beautiful and well known temples in Dehradun. Situated on Rajpur Road, 8 kilometers from the Clock Tower, found far from the rushing about of Dehradun. Devoted to Shirdi Sai Baba, the temple is regularly visited by numerous aficionados crosswise over diverse beliefs. The Sai Darbar Temple is built of marble and the icon of Sai Baba is set amidst the temple.

Tibetan Temple

Buddha Temple is a Tibetan monestary, also called as Mindrolling Monastery and was build in 1965 by his eminence the Kochen Rinpoche and few other monks for the promotion and protection of religious & cultural understanding of Buddhism. Built in Japanese architecture style, Buddha Temple complex atmosphere provides a mental peace equal to Buddhist monk.

Robber’s Cave

Guchhupani or Robbers Cave is known for unusual cold springs which goes underground at some of the places inside the caves. One can enter the cold water with folding pants and witness small and large waterfall. Experiencing beautiful natural rift or caves with legs in freezing water is amazing and romantic as well. Youngsters and tourists rushed to Robbers Cave mostly in summers to get relief from scorching Sun.
